As you are all aware, Wales are overhauling and standardising the procedures that acupuncture practitioners (along with other special procedures practitioners) need to follow to meet Licensing criteria.
Currently, we are in the second stage of consultation with this process, now discussing the day to day issues. AAC were pleased to be involved in the discussions and were delighted to be asked to present at a training session for all licensing officers across Wales on 1st May.
We were really delighted to hear the encouragement to foster successful practitioners through understanding what both good practice and poor practice looks like to help licensing officers focus on where there is risk to the public.
AAC presented on the safety of acupuncture, talked about the training levels, what conditions acupuncture treats, the research and how we work on a day to day basis.
We, Clare Ward and Sarah Matheson, made wonderful contacts and are really delighted to be able to have such an open and positive relationship with the licensing bodies.
