Association of Acupuncture Clinicians Partners with Skin Cancer Charity to Empower Members in Early Detection

The Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC) is proud to announce a new partnership! This exciting collaboration brings vital skin cancer early detection training to our AAC members, enhancing their ability to support the overall well-being of their patients.

Early detection saves lives. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers, but when caught early, the prognosis is excellent. Through this new training program, AAC members will gain the knowledge and skills to become valuable partners in early detection.

What will members learn?

Upon completion of the training, AAC members will be able to:

  • Identify and interpret common signs and symptoms associated with the most prevalent forms of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical decision-making regarding referrals or signposting patients to appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Effectively communicate with patients about identifying sun damage, managing existing concerns, and preventing future skin cancers.

Empowering acupuncturists to make a difference

By equipping our members with these valuable skills, the AAC and our partner charity aim to:

  • Increase awareness of skin cancer among patients visiting acupuncturists.
  • Improve early detection rates through timely referrals and patient education.
  • Enhance the overall well-being of patients by empowering them to take charge of their skin health.
