Sharps Disposal Service

Our Sharps Disposal Service has been designed based around a survey of our members needs. This is a unique service and we broke all the industry standards to bring this service to you.

Historically, some practitioners could access free or cheap council services, but most paid for sharps disposal. Contract services often had specific collection periods, such as every three months. This caused difficulties as sharps bins were not always full when collected, while, at busier times, the bins filled up long before their allotted collection period. Contracts also tended to tie practitioners in for set periods of time and often had extra hidden charges.

So we carried out a survey. The survey helped us identify the key requirements of a sharps disposal service that works with the practitioner.

After negotiating with over fifteen sharps disposal companies, we are glad to announce our non-contract sharps collection service!

This is different from the usual service. You can now purchase a 1 litre, 5 litre, 7 litre or 11.5 litre sharps bin without a specific collection date. Instead of being tied to a date, you can arrange for a collection when your sharps bin is almost full. You can also replace the collected bin at the same time.

You can buy as many bins as you like and reduce or expand the number of bins you have without changing the cost or service. You have a single contract for each bin, and there are no hidden charges or extras.

The larger bins are better economically over time, as the main cost is in the delivery, collection, and disposal and not the actual size of the bin.

Pricing is as follows and includes the delivery, collection, and disposal.

1 Litre £10.00 + VAT (£12.00)
2 Litre £12.50 + VAT (£15.00)
5 Litre £15.00 + VAT (£18.00)
7 Litre £17.00 + VAT (£20.40)
11.5 Litre £20.00 + VAT (£24.00)
The bin collector can collect any old or current bins for a further reduced price, as well as provide yellow hazardous waste bags if you use these. They will also deliver and collect large orange hazard bags for clinical waste including blood. These are at £14 per bag and again offered on a non-contract service (so when the bag is full).

We believe this is one of the most flexible and inexpensive services with national coverage available, and it is exclusively available to members. All you will need to do is complete the Sharps Disposal Form

AAC does not make any money or commission on this service. All savings have been passed on to our AAC members as a benefit.
