Practitioner Name
Andrew Wormald
Bio
Andrew is a practitioner of both Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture (TCM) and Five Elements (5E) acupuncture. These two styles work very well together as TCM acupuncture focuses on addressing symptomatic issues and 5E acupuncture is more focused on the subtle energetic imbalances that may have led to these symptoms. In addition to acupuncture, Andrew is also experienced in the practice of Chinese therapeutic massage (tuina), which means that he can offer the same level of support to those who don’t want acupuncture or who prefer a more hands-on approach to treatment. Andrew is also a skilled Qigong and Tai Chi practitioner and is able to advise clients on the best forms of exercise to support their needs. Andrew qualified with an honours degree in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, and has received post-graduate diplomas in Gynaecology, Fertility and Obstetrics, and in Tuina Massage. He also has a PhD from the University of Bristol based on his research of Chinese Buddhist meditation practices, and is fully qualified by the Buqi Insitute to teach Tai Chi and Qigong. Andrew is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the largest professional body for traditional acupuncturists in the UK. Andrew has called Bristol his home for the past fifteen years. He lives in the St George area with his wife, two young daughters, and a cat named Charlie.
