Pippa trained in acupuncture on a 3-year, full time degree course at the University of Westminster in London (formerly London School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine). This course provided supervised clinical training using the traditional Chinese medical model. It also covered the core health sciences, practitioner development and research skills. Pippa has been practising for over 20 years and since qualifying has been developing a special interest in treating fertility and pregnancy related conditions. She has been a founding member of Acupuncture Childbirth Team Brighton & Sussex (ACT) since 2004. ACT is a group of qualified acupuncturists with a common interest in using acupuncture to improve the experience of pregnancy and childbirth for women and their partners as well as to enhance fertility. As part of a continuing arrangement between ACT and Brighton and Sussex University Hospital, Pippa has contributed to and spoken at a series of CPD presentations for midwives, on treatments for breech presentation and acupuncture/acupressure for pain relief during labour. Pippa worked at the Sussex Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Centre in Southwick for 8 years. This centre provides various complementary therapies – including acupuncture – as well as oxygen therapy at reduced rates for members of the centre. She also worked at Dolphin House Clinic for 17 years until its very recent closure. The Children’s Clinic at Dolphin House was run as a charity where parents and carers paid on a sliding scale according to income. Sadly, due to the Covid-19 pandemic the organisation wasn’t able to survive. Pippa now works in Goring-by-Sea, Worthing. Pippa is committed to continued professional development and regularly attends seminars and ongoing training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine and holistic care. Most recently she has completed certification in Melanoma and skin cancer early detection.
