Association of Acupuncture Clinicians
Duey’s approach is gentle, reassuring, informal and professional. At your first consultation, Duey will take a thorough medical history and ask you which issues you would like to prioritise (further symptoms are often resolved along with the main or presenting condition/s). The first session, lasting up to 90 minutes (45mins telephone consultation followed by 45mins in the treatment room), includes a full acupuncture treatment where very fine, single-use, disposable needles are placed at specific points on the body and left for around twenty minutes.
Follow-up acupuncture treatments will build upon the initial consultation and treatment. The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative and build over several treatments. Long term chronic conditions usually require more treatments than recent acute issues.
Before agreeing on a course of treatment with your acupuncturist it is important that you check with your Private Health Insurer to confirm that your treatment will be covered by your policy as this information is subject to changes outside of our control.
